      * When recycling batteries at a Batteries Plus location, costs will vary by location due to local and state regulations.

      1. Collect your used batteries.
      2. Put household batteries in a clear non-conductive bag to be recycled. For ALL batteries over 9 volts and for lithium batteries, put clear tape over the battery terminals.
      3. Check your batteries for damage. If the battery is swollen, cracked, or recalled, place it in a clear non-conductive bag full of sand.
Do NOT throw damaged batteries in the trash!
      4. Store your batteries in a dry, cool location away from any metals until they can be properly recycled.
      5. Visit the Cirba Solutions WeRecycle map to find a battery recycling location near year or call your local community on drop-off locations.
