Innovative Battery Recycling Program For Public Safety Equipment
Partnership provides a turnkey solution for lithium-ion battery collection for public safety equitnment and assists in Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) efforts
Wixom, Michigan (April 12, 2022) – Battery Solutions, the North American leader in sustainable, end-to-end management solutions for end-of-life batteries and consumer electronics, and Axon, the global leader in connected public safety technologies, today announced a partnership to create a first-of-its-kind battery recycling program to enhance Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) efforts across communities in the United States.
Battery Solutions will support the collection of lithium-ion batteries and cartridges from Axon’s TASER energy devices, body-worn cameras and other technology products nationwide. Collection units will be offered at no cost on Axon’s website for all U.S-based Axon partners. These units will give public safety agencies a simple and turnkey solution for battery recycling, while reinforcing Axon’s commitment to sustainability and ESG efforts.

Battery Solutions will support the collection, sorting, and processing of all collected lithium-ion batteries. This fully traceable program will provide industry-leading compliance and safety, ensuring that batteries are recycled efficiently so valuable metals can re-enter the supply chain. Battery Solutions’ battery recycling programs support many of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and expand Axon’s existing ESG plans.
This program launches April 2022 and underscores the celebration of sustainability efforts by teams worldwide.
